2024 United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship

The aim of the United Nations – The Nippon Foundation Strategic Needs Fellowship is to support developing States, especially least developed countries, small island developing States, and landlocked developing countries, in addressing specific strategic needs related to the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and associated instruments.

This initiative also focuses on advancing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 and other related SDGs. The fellowship targets government officials with limited background in ocean affairs and the law of the sea, who occupy key positions in their administrations and are tasked with addressing the aforementioned needs.
