Explore Japanese culture and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Japan by joining the fully funded International Youth Conference on Biodiversity (IYCB) in Yokohama, Japan in 2024. Scheduled from August 25th to August 31st, 2024, this conference aims to bring together more than 100 young individuals from across the globe to foster connections, collaboration, and the exchange of experiences and interests in biodiversity.
Organized as a joint effort between the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), the Ministry of Environment of Japan, the City of Yokohama, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the Japan Biodiversity Fund, this conference seeks to empower youth to become catalysts for positive change in biodiversity conservation. With a duration of one week, participants will have the opportunity to engage in impactful discussions, workshops, and activities aimed at addressing key challenges and opportunities in biodiversity conservation.

Goal of the Conference
The International Youth Conference on Biodiversity aims to:
- Empower young people to share ideas on protecting biodiversity across different fields.
- Get young people involved in achieving global biodiversity goals.
- Help young people develop projects to support biodiversity in their communities.
Selection Criteria
- Must be an active member of a youth organization/movement/network/community that is working on Biodiversity on the local, national, regional, and/or international level.
- Youth members must be between 18-35 years old by the time of the conference.
- Applications must be submitted in English.
